Management and the Future of Work: “Boomers, Millennials and Zoomers”

In an increasingly connected and technology-driven world, the new generations of professionals (Millennials and Generation Z) bring a unique perspective to the job market. With a sense of immediacy and a strong focus on purpose, they often seem detached from traditional notions such as long-term commitment and responsibility. This approach can sometimes create a divide between generations and with the culture of certain companies.

On the other side of the coin, we observe that—despite growing awareness—many organisations still need to evolve in how they approach their relationship with employees. I believe the companies that stand out now, and will continue to do so in the future, are those that invest in the professionalisation and continuous development of all employees, especially at the management level. Developing more self-aware, empathetic leaders who are focused on a positive management model is essential. These are leaders who understand that encouraging the personal and professional growth of their teams is key to collective performance and talent retention.

At agap2IT, we pride ourselves on being a company made of people for people. Though not without its challenges, we live this reality. Close relationships and a strong human-centred culture are crucial for building bridges between generations and ensuring that each individual’s purpose is aligned with the organisation’s goals. It’s about open communication, constructive feedback, and creating an environment where responsibility is shared and commitment is nurtured.

This cycle of interaction between companies and professionals must never be guided by negativity. If we allow mistrust or misunderstanding to take root, we risk a general decline—of companies unable to retain talent, and of professionals unable to find their place. The path forward lies in mutual investment, where dedicated leadership meets employee commitment, creating an environment of trust and shared growth.
