Context and Goal

CARRIS aimed to provide its customers with a simpler and faster way to top up their travel passes, removing the need to visit physical sales points. The goal was to launch an intuitive mobile app leveraging smartphone NFC technology to modernise and streamline the process.

• Simplifying the process of topping up transport passes.
• Integrating secure digital payment methods (MBWay and bank cards).
• Ensuring compatibility with Android and iOS smartphones equipped with NFC.

With over 640 hours of analysis and implementation, the agap2IT team developed the CARRISway app, which enables:

• Direct top-up of travel passes via smartphone.
• NFC-based card reading and loading, quickly and securely.
• In-app payments through MBWay or bank cards.
